Ways to Incorporate Movement Into a Sedentary Lifestyle

Now more than ever, it’s hard to get the inspiration to get moving. While many of us are balancing and blending work and home responsibilities, it can be challenging to set aside time dedicated just to working out.

But incorporating physical activity into your daily routine is one of the best things you can do for yourself. In fact, it’s one of the simplest ways to improve your overall fitness and mental health.

Here are a few easy ways to sneak in a little more movement:

  • Take the stairs
  • Stand up and move during commercial breaks on television
  • Walk or bike when running errands
  • Park at the far end of a parking lot
  • Mow the lawn or shovel the driveway
  • Mop or vacuum
  • Commit to walking when talking on the phone

Ready to give personal training a try?

If you’d like to incorporate some dedicated workouts into the mix, personal training is an excellent solution.

It’s flexible
As working from home continues to become more and more commonplace, you may be able to squeeze in a session at a less conventional time. (Need to burn off a little stress after that weekly staff meeting? We dare you to give it a try!)

It can be done virtually
Many of our trainers now offer virtual sessions, shortening the overall amount of time you need to set aside in your day. What’s not to love about that?

It keeps you accountable
Add a few pre-scheduled personal training sessions to your calendar, and you’re a lot more likely to honor those commitments. No more excuses about not feeling like working out. Someone is expecting you to show up!

It allows for a customized approach
Personal training sessions are tailored specifically to your fitness level, schedule and goals, so there’s no reason to worry about what you should be doing. We’ll help you along your personal fitness journey.
